I like this quote because its about change. ReplyDeleteThis quote is very important to me because I feel like it guides me through life. I always complain about not having enough but I know that there are people in the world who do not have anything. Thanks to Lao Tzu I have learned how to appriciate the things that I do have and be happy with them. Everything that is necessary for daily survival is at the reach of my hand. Once you realize that you have everything you need in life such as happiness, family, and a roof over your head, you will have control of your own life.
This quote reminds me of my friend Brian Kelley. You will never see a frown on his face he is constantly content with everything he has, even during times of struggles. I definitely agree with this quote I believe that it's very true. I at times don't feel satisfied with what I have especially when it comes to materialistic things but I've learned that materialistic things don't matter. It's the little things in life that make me happy.

ReplyDeleteI like this qutoe because although you are sucessful and have everything you want no matter how hard you work to get it; it can easily vanish. And even thoes who dont feel successful wont always feel like that because if they work hard to achieve a goal they'll feel very proud of themselves and nothing is permanet.

This quote is a reminder that failure is not one's fault, however if you wish to keep trying, it is one's obligation to learn and rebuild with the guidance of your past failures as experience. This talks to me because I often have grand plans that sometimes, admittedly, never take off the ground. However, I always try again and should i fail again, i realize that my failure is my own and i did not learn enough from my past failures.

I apply this to my everyday life because i always hate not trying something and just giving up. to me it is always better to have tried and failed than to have gave up. Always put up a fight!

ReplyDeleteThis quote is basically saying that the difference between someone who has achieved great things versus someone who hasn't is solely based on the idea of actually getting up and achieving these great things. In order to achieve these great things you must take action and do something to reach your goals. That it takes determination so you can either fight and stick to what your determined to achieve because in the end that is what will leave you victorious. Is sticking to your goals and achieving that specific thing that you were determined to achieve. I feel connected to this quote in many aspects because i can definitely relate to this quote. I say that because there have been many scenarios where i have just felt like giving up, but i knew that if i just gave up that i wasn't going to get anywhere. Or even if you don't do anything at all then you cant expect to get much. Therefore i believe i can relate to most to Sir Thomas Fowell Buxton's quote because when i am determined to achieve something i set out and do it and try my hardest in order to achieve that goal no matter what obstacles i might be faced with.

ReplyDeleteTo me, this quote basically means that there's things in life that are right there for you, and all you got to do is put your part and actually getting it. I agree with Swedish Proverb, because is true, every where you'll go there's things that you would want, but that does not mean that it'll be handed to you just that easy. That's why you have to work hard, and do something in order to get it. Just like a bird. Birds know they have to eat and there's worm all around their environment but it won't be right there in their mouth, that's why they'll have to search for it.

ReplyDeleteAfter looking at so many quotes and knowing the reason why i choose this one out of many made me realize something. This quote had a very special and imporant meaning, it meant that success without honor isnt worth anything if it doesnt change yoy as in gaining honor from it and also made you thinks that you can be in teh same level of success as another person but what matters the most is how you react towards it. What really matters in reaching a level of success is how you carry yourself towards it and how much you value it. i believe that everyone considers a different thing to be success depending on the persons point of view and to some success can be easy or to many very diffcult thats why success to many is very different and like Joe quotes if it doesnt have honor then it wont taste good and i believe its true. In my point of view if you dont feel good afterwards then it isnt worth the good taste. =)

ReplyDeleteI believe in this quote entirely because if you are worrying about everyone else instead of just focused on your success then you are going to get nowhere. This quote caught my eye because lately I have been more concentrated on what everyone else is doing instead of going out and doing things for myself. ReplyDeleteI think that this is a good quote because most people find a way to success but majority of people make their own way to become successful.Most people think that there is one way to become successful when this quote shows that there is more than one way to become successful. You can find a way and make a way through finding that way. I think that it is a natural instinct for people to find another way to get to something. If you can't get around something you find another way around it. It's just natural for people to find their way around things especially if it has something to do with success.

This quote means that you have to have self control and think about your actions before you do something you might regret. This quote reminds me of myself. I use to act out before I thought about what I should do. When I felt like someone was trying to disrespect me of attack me I resorted to violence. Doing this I was always in trouble and was in trouble with the law. Now that I've grown and looked back at my past and got help, I see that i have more patient and think about what I should do instead of wanting to do.

ReplyDeleteI believe that this quote is trying to say, In order to succeed you must forget about all doubt in you self and only thing you must think about is the task ahead. you must try with all your heart to succeed.
In my life I believe that I've followed this way of thinking, if I want to achieve everything and anything I must put my all into it and try my best. Although sometimes I fail at least I know that I've done my best.

ReplyDeleteTo start off, this quote is saying success should be about the enjoying the road to success not the arrival. The reason i agree with this quote is because success should not have an ending. People tend to focus stereo typical views of success which is, money, cars, a big house and etc. For the people who view success base on material things success is a destination, because it becomes a the greater goal for them to achieve. However for those who break down success to many different goals, tend to enjoy the journey of being successful.
I believe one's mindset about the idea of success can really affect them. The reason for that is success is like a road trip; and within a road trip, there are those who focus on the beauty of traveling and who they are around throughout the experience. Whereas the others forget about everything else around them, except for the outcome of the trip which is the destination. Those who focus on the journey are more often positively affected.
Going back to the quote, "Success should be a journey, not a destination." I agree, because Success should have no ending. One can be successful at any goal whether it is achieved or not. The idea should be the view of the hard work it took to reach a certain point, and making sure the progress continue to shine through

I think this quote means that no one has the ability to hurt you, only you have the power to do that.
I agree with this quote because many people in this world can relate to this. I think if we stopped letting others get to us then we would all feel a lot more positive about our self.
I can definitely relate to this quote because I used to believe that it was others who would make me feel bad but when I really thought about it, I realized that I was feeling bad because I was allowing them to hurt me.

ReplyDeleteI agree with this quote because I think that everything should come naturally when it comes to wanting something, it should never be forced upon because its not something that your heart truly desires. This quote reminds me of my mother because she always told me that success is in the hands of fate which means that it comes naturally and whatever path life chooses for us we should accept it and know that someday that success can come true but only in a matter of time. This quote makes me feel that we dont know what can happen next in life and we should constantly live in the moment because we never know what can occur and we should be glad with what we have because we were destined for it and that one day life will gives us our own form of success.

This quote also goes back to the Gladwell response on the idea of success. I agree with this 100 percent because many people get were they are at due to others. Having help from others and connections is always something positive that your an use for your personal gain. Not many people can become big without others on their side. If you complete one goal, there will always be more goals that follow that one goal. I can relate to this because even though I feel successful in getting far in life, I still choose to continue with my future goals and I feel like my work is never over.

Their is a process you have to go through and a journey you will flourish in order to find your path of success. ReplyDeleteI chose this quote because I believe you don't know whats success until you have reached it. Its not just about saying it, but actually doing it. Its more about doing what you believe is right without having a definition that you have to follow to achieve success because if you have the definition of success it would make you feel like a failure when you haven't achieved the requirements.
